Nice flavor, slight spicy burn

Good flavour, which isn't anything
4Good flavour, which isn't anything like Malt Whiskey, but was still good. Do you add chillis to give that little bit of 'burn' on the palate?: (I suppose that would be telling.) I used the recipe in the booklet and added some vanilla syrup and ice. Very nice

My, this is GOOD!
5Tastes great with Diet Coke, Coke Zero, and even Caffeine Free Diet Coke! Love the Bourbon flavor. Great taste, no consequence, no calories!

Okay for more complex drinks
3It smelt okay on opening with definite bourbon tones. Unfortunately it was not palatable straight, either neat or over ice. It was okay mixed in cola with a squeeze of lime but had a particular after-taste that was not pleasant. It shined in an old fashioned and I actually enjoyed it more then some of the alcoholic options I have used. I wouldn't recommend this product if you intend to use it straight or with a single mixer. However it can work well in more complex drinks.

American Malt falters
3I was very excited to try this non-alcoholic whiskey. I made an old fashioned based on the recipe from Lyre's online. I can say its an okay substitute for a cocktail if I'm feeling the itch but overall lacks the bite and deepness of whiskey. In Lyre's defense, I'm not sure its possible to harness the true whiskey characteristics without it being...well...whiskey.

Really enjoyed
5I generally drink bourbon on the rocks, and this is a great replacement. Low calorie, great peppery finish that sticks around, not too sweet. I like it with a splash of soda water and orange zest.

Great Whiskey Alternative!
5Great whiskey alternative, used this in an Old Fashioned and a Whiskey Sour and my partner and I were both very impressed. Can't wait to do more with it!
