5So it's not bourbon, but if you free yourself from expecting an exact imitation, you find that it has a lot to recommend it. It really works as its own thing. Ive been using it for Manhattans and I really like it.

I found the Malt to
3I found the Malt to be a little too on the sweet side. Not enough bite to it. This is my first purchase of non-alcoholic spirits and am going to “test the waters” by trying several brands. I discovered an unknown benefit from the product. I don’t snore now since going non-alcoholic.

While not the best straight,
3While not the best straight, I’ve found it works well as an Old Fashioned and in the Boulevardier mix. I’ve also worked up my own, non-alcoholic Sazerac with two types of bitters, the Malt, simple syrup and anise that is quite tasty.

The nose of this cocktail
5The nose of this cocktail was amazing. Smelled just like it came out of a bourbon barrel and tasted just as complicated.

5I’m a bourbon drinker. I like it straight, mixed as an old fashioned or other classic cocktail. My wife can’t drink but enjoys mocktails. I’ve used other alcohol free bourbons, but prefer this one so far. Caramel, vanilla, and hints of raisin come thru but none of the alcohol of real spirits.

5I don’t drink alcohol so I can’t say how closely Lyre’s American Malt matches the real thing but it is perfect for my purposes. With COVID-19 and working from home, I wanted a way to demarcate my workday from my personal time and a drink after work came to mind. I didn’t want alcohol so Lyre’s works perfectly. I’ve been making whiskey sours, Manhattans and other cocktails and have really been enjoying it
