NOT a whiskey, but a solid rum substitute
3Too sweet and maple-flavored to work as a whiskey, but this was a solid stand in for rum. I made a simple daiquiri (rum, lime, simple syrup), and aside from needing to cut back on simple a bit it totally worked. It's not going to replace your Foursquare or Hamilton, of course. Sometimes I want a nice cocktail without alcohol (or very reduced) and for me, this is such a nice option.

So Happy I Found This
5I was an alcoholic for 11 years, and I've been fortunate enough to find non-alcoholic beers and wine, but I wasn't able to find a replacement for my favorite drink: Rum & Coke. And I really missed it. I gave Lyre's American Malt a try and I was NOT disappointed! It tasted great and brought back the fuzzy warmth I'd been missing. Mixed it with just a bit of cola and I was very happy with it. Definitely recommend it if you haven't tried it yet.

Spirit
3The Spirit is definitely missing and Lyre's Spirits is misleading. I'll keep it around as a mixer.

Manhattan magic with American Malt
4I would love to give it 5 stars but I think there is always room for improvement in all food and beverages. As the chilly weather has arrived I made the Lyre's Manhattan. I was totally satisfied. 140 days without alcohol and seriously may never have it again.
